New year, new updates! Check your social networks or speak with your vendors to ensure that your social strategy remains unaffected by these recent changes from Facebook and Google.
Facebook Profile Photos
Gone are the days of being square. Facebook has recently switched Business Profiles from their classic square state to a curvier state. To ensure your profile photo complies with the updated look, utilize these tips:
- Your uploaded image should be square and at least 850 pixels by 850 pixels. Even though the image is uploaded as a square, it will be cropped into a circle.
- Your logo should be placed on a white background.
- At full size (850 px x 850 px), your uploaded image should have a resolution between 72-150 ppi (pixels per inch) so your image will not appear blurry.
- Center your logo as much as possible to allow for padding between your logo and the circular crop.

Google+ API is No More
We’ve announced this before, but it’s worth repeating. Google+ is dead. Their API is set to officially sunset and be removed from publishing tools on January 28th, 2019. Ensure your teams are set to post on alternative networks or switch to posting offers directly on Google My Business.
