However, the way in which we now receive “word of mouth” recommendations has vastly changed over the last decade. We once relied on our neighbors, family members and industry friends to pass on insights and knowledge in addition to the positive or negative sentiment surrounding whatever it was we were interested in. Yet, now we rely on the experiences of strangers from all over the country (and even the world) to assist and steer our buying decisions through the influence of online reviews.
