In October of 2016, Facebook announced the release of its latest timeline: Facebook Marketplace. Available for buyers and sellers alike, it forged the way as a replacement to the outdated methods of buy/sell groups on a local level. Instead of private groups with multiple pages, Facebook scaled the idea so listings were geo-targeted, searchable, and related to what users had previously shopped for. The future of buying and selling online left the dredges of Craigslist and entered the 21st century.
With more than 450 million users visiting these pages, Facebook opted to take it to the next level. In Q4 of 2017, it was announced to businesses that Facebook would begin allowing product feeds to be featured in the Marketplace in the coming months. This release is still in beta and being tested with third-party affiliates, like Edmunds and Cars.com. Friendemic has also been contacted by Facebook to become a third-party affiliate and is working diligently with their team to get our clients online as soon as it’s available.
While the Marketplace is still underway, there is a key alternative your marketing team may be overlooking when advertising on Facebook: Dynamic Product Ads. If Marketplace appeals to you because it 1) shows your inventory in real time with updated product specs, 2) is geo-targeted to customers in your immediate area, and 3) shows that same inventory to customers known to be shopping for a vehicle, then Dynamic Product Ads are for you.
Our dedicated advertising team will integrate your inventory catalog with Facebook and utilize the latest information from Oracle data to find in-market shoppers specifically for your inventory. See it in action here:
